Evening fasting – a ritual of inner cleansing
As the day fades and the light gently recedes, an ancient and healing ritual begins at the Oasis. From 4:00 p.m. onward, eating comes to a pause – not as an act of deprivation, but as a conscious choice to give the body the space to do what it has always known: heal itself.
In the state of fasting, a profound biological process is activated – the so-called autophagy.
The word comes from ancient Greek and literally means “self-eating” – a miraculous ability of the body to identify, break down, and recycle damaged, degenerated, or aged cell components for cellular renewal.
This mechanism was scientifically proven by the Japanese cell biologist Yoshinori Ōsumi, who received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2016 for his research.
His studies show that regular fasting not only supports the prevention of degenerative diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes, but also slows down the process of cellular aging.
During the nightly fasting phase, insulin levels drop, metabolism is regulated, and the natural hormone balance is supported – especially human growth hormone (HGH), which is increasingly released during fasting and promotes regeneration, fat burning, and cellular rejuvenation.
Yet beyond the biological processes, something deeper takes place:
When the body is no longer occupied with digestion, awareness turns inward.
Space opens for silence, for mental clarity, for sensing one’s own essence.
Many guests report deeper sleep, easier awakening, and a peaceful sense of emptiness – not as lack, but as fullness.
Fasting at the Oasis – a daily invitation to return to yourself.
“The body heals when the mind becomes still.”
At the Oasis, every evening from 4:00 p.m., we begin this path – gently, consciously, and with care.
The breakfast the next morning is no longer just a meal – but a sacred breaking of the fast, an energy-filled new beginning, both on the cellular level and within yourself.
